![]() ![]() ![]() Great themes, good twists, solid storytelling, relatable characters and relationships and sick action scenes. That's dope and bold and awesome at the same time. He looked badass in it.Īnd IDK why it just happens that we get a Stargirl related article published this week when it's officially a year after it ended on December 7th.coincidence? Destiny? Accident? Fate? Maybe I'm (over)thinking it too much but I still am cautiously holding onto hope and want the show to be the exception that it gets it's revival under the DC Elseworlds label/banner because not only was it SO good and another proof that a comic book writer can translate his work from the pages to the screen when they're in charge (Neil Gaiman already showed it with Good Omens and with The Sandman) but also because it's a earnest coming-of-age supehero story about balancing the light and the darkness with the JSA and the ISA legacies that did something no other IP in the genre has done: make the heroes and villains work together to stop actual worse threats through the new generation. (The role went to Alex Collins)īut again, he'll be remembered at least for also having his own JSA poster in the old JSA hideout from the 3rd episode. He must've had schedule conflicts that led to forfeit the role so he didn't return as Charles McNider in Season 2 where his story would've been picked up in the Shadowlands. I remember him briefly as the first actor that played Charles McNider aka Doctor Mid-Nite, but that short-lived role is still memorable enough for him because it was in the action-packed series opening of the show with the fall of the JSA against the ISA 10 years before the main story began. Seems that he fared much better in the Fall of the House of Usher series than in this sequel that came out two months ago to unfavourable reviews unfortuantely, that sucks but at least Mike Flanagan seems to have managed to help him deliver a strong performance in the former, so career-wise speaking that's good for him.
